now, in order to get rid of a partition, or to choose a new one, you need to open disk utility. this is made available through your software centre, along with a whole host of other useful things, like apps to help youwith email, and things like that. as mentioned, there are a few options on the menu bar, but then again, you can always get to any of them by pressing alt-opt.

don't worry too much about the make-up of the partition, even though you can change that if you want to. it's just there to hold your operating system, while you're installing a new one. so, resize it to the size you want.once you're happy that it's the right size, then quit it again, and then press 'create partition'.

if you are using com-labs when creating your dll's for windows7 the you will need to make sure you include com-labs.dll in your project. if you do not do this, your dll will not register correctly with the windows operating system. that is all there is to it, no fiddling with the registry, and no removal of the device driver.

when i first tested this in 6.1 i had to do the registry hacky stuff to disable com port, which is a problem. so i did a bunch of this in my autohotkey scripts i publish, so check the following script:

manual investigation tells me that the device is not defined in the registry, and that the reason is that the device is the wrong type. the service registry definatly shows that this type is installed, it is the problem is that i do not know the service registry. there is a bunch of registry entries for a program called "windows remote management" but they dont seem to have anything to do with the device. 84d34552a1
