= DataURL: Generate data URLs for use in HTML, CSS, etc.

DataURL is an RFC 2397-compliant data URL generator. It consists of both a small library and a command-line utility.

== Command-Line Usage

$ dataurl myfile.txt $ dataurl -m text/plain myfile $ echo Hello | dataurl -m text/plain

== Library Usage

require 'dataurl'

Figure out the mime type based on the file name.

mime_type = DataURL.guess_mime(filename)

Generate the data URL.

DataURL.generate(mime_type: mime_type, content: IO.binread(filename))
