Known issues

  • React 18 is not supported yet.
  • Webpack 5 requires polyfills for some dependencies:

For the latest major version of create-react-app it's recommended to use react-app-rewired.

Example config-overrides.js file:

const webpack = require("webpack");

module.exports = function override(config, env) {
  //do stuff with the webpack config...
  config.resolve.fallback = {
    ...config.resolve.fallback,
    stream: require.resolve("stream-browserify"),
    crypto: require.resolve("crypto-browserify"),
    buffer: require.resolve("buffer"),
  };
  config.resolve.extensions = [...config.resolve.extensions, ".ts", ".js"];
  config.plugins = [
    ...config.plugins,
    new webpack.ProvidePlugin({
      process: "process/browser",
      Buffer: ["buffer", "Buffer"],
    }),
  ];

  return config;
};
