ChatKitty Ember Addon

Introduction

The ChatKitty Ember Addon provides an easy way to integrate the ChatKitty widget into your Ember application. The chat widget allows you to embed a rich chat interface seamlessly within your application, enhancing user experience.

Installation

Install the addon via npm:

npm install @chatkitty/chat-ui-ember --save

Usage

To use the ChatWidget component in your Ember application, insert it in your template:

<ChatWidget @id="yourChatKittyId" @username="user123" @height="400px" />

Component Properties

  • id (Required): Your ChatKitty widget UI identifier. This ID connects the widget to a specific configuration on ChatKitty.
  • username (Required): The unique username for the chat session. This determines the identity of the user in the chat session.
  • height: The height of the chat widget. It can be in any CSS-valid format (e.g., "100%", "400px"). Default is "100vh".

Customizing the Chat Widget

To further customize the look and behavior of the chat widget, you can use the ChatKitty Platform API.

Here's an example of how you can update the styles of your widget:

PATCH https://api.chatkitty.com/widgets/{id}

Payload:

{
  "styles": {
    "$version": "0.0.1",
    "base-theme": "light",
    "overrides": {
      ...
    }
  }
}

The full list of styles and configurations that you can customize can be found in the ChatKitty UI Styles documentation.
