# Posthog Design System

Generate tokens, components, and recipes which are then imported into our various projects. 

Built with [style-dictionary](https://www.npmjs.com/package/style-dictionary) and [nextjs](https://nextjs.org/).

## Usage

To generate the tokens, run the following command:

### Build
```bash
pnpm run build
```
This will generate the tokens in the `/dist` directory, as-well as inject them into the local `frontend` project.

### Watch
To watch for changes in the `src` directory and regenerate the tokens, run the following command:

```bash
pnpm run watch
```

This allows you to make changes to the tokens and see the changes in the frontend project immediately.


### Run frontend (optional)

```bash
pnpm install --prefix frontend
```

```bash
pnpm dev
```

This will start the nextjs project and you can view the tokens as documentation/testing.
