git-secrets is a tool that prevents you from committing passwords and other sensitive information to a git repository. It scans for secrets in your commits and can be integrated into your git workflow. Unlike @secretlint/core, which is a Node.js library, git-secrets is a standalone tool that operates at the git level.
detect-secrets is a Python-based tool that acts as a 'pre-commit' hook to prevent secrets from being committed into your codebase. It is similar to @secretlint/core in its purpose but is implemented in Python and designed to be used as a pre-commit hook.
