PlaySolder

PlaySolder allows you to easily create mock images and mp3s for a website.

Requirements

PlaySolder needs OSX (the "say" command), ImageMagick and Sox with lame support.

If you're using Homebrew (and if you're not, you should be), this command should install everything you need:

brew install imagemagick lame sox

Usage Example

Create an mp3 saying "hello world"

path_to_created_file = PlaySolder::Fake.for_path("hello_world.mp3").generate

Create a jpg (pngs and gifs also work) with text "screenshot 7"

path_to_created_file = PlaySolder::Fake.for_path("screenshot_7.jpg").generate

Setup all images with names matching a regexp to be a certain size

PlaySolder::Image.auto_resize(/thumbnail/ => "100x75") path_to_created_file = PlaySolder::Fake.for_path("thumbnail_1.png").generate

Note on Patches/Pull Requests

  • Fork the project.
  • Make your feature addition or bug fix.
  • Add tests for it. This is important so I don't break it in a future version unintentionally.
  • Commit, do not mess with rakefile, version, or history. (if you want to have your own version, that is fine but bump version in a commit by itself I can ignore when I pull)
  • Send me a pull request. Bonus points for topic branches.
