gem install rugex

Open a terminal and run:
rugex [text] [regex]

rugex aquarius aqua
=> aqua rius
rugex 'new aquarius' aqua
=> new aqua rius
rugex aquarius ^a.+u
=> aquariu s
rugex aquarius 'a[qr]'
=> aq u ar ius
