# What is it

http-network-proxy serves two main purposes. First, it tries to help bridge the gap between creating rules in [Charles Proxy](https://www.charlesproxy.com/) and rewriting those rules for use in automated tests. Second, some devices like Roku's don't have an option for specifying a proxy. http-network-proxy is used in conjunction with [roku-test-automation](https://www.npmjs.com/package/roku-test-automation) to help detect and/or manipulate network requests as part of automated tests.
