npm install -g npm_keychain_auth
npmka [options] [classic npm commands]
for example
npmka install
npmka --user=xiphe publish
you will get a prompt for your credentials and afterwards
the npm command will run with your _auth
.
--re-auth
enforces the auth dialog--user={name}
switch to user with {name}--help -h
get helpSome environments still require the outdated _auth
configuration of npm.
For example sonatypes repo manager (when realms are not configured).
The _auth
config requires your name and password in base64 encoding.
In other words: If someone gains access to it,
that person can decode it and has your credentials.
So this tool stores your credentials in your systems keychain and only access them when you use it. You can also choose to not store your credentials at all and re-type them every time you use the tool.
