Round a numeric value to the nearest integer.

Installation

npm install @stdlib/math-base-special-round

Usage

var round = require( '@stdlib/math-base-special-round' );
round( x )

Rounds a numeric value to the nearest integer.

var v = round( -4.2 );
// returns -4.0

v = round( -4.5 );
// returns -4.0

v = round( -4.6 );
// returns -5.0

v = round( 9.99999 );
// returns 10.0

v = round( 9.5 );
// returns 10.0

v = round( 9.2 );
// returns 9.0

v = round( 0.0 );
// returns 0.0

v = round( -0.0 );
// returns -0.0

v = round( Infinity );
// returns Infinity

v = round( -Infinity );
// returns -Infinity

v = round( NaN );
// returns NaN

Notes

  • Ties are rounded toward positive infinity.
