Extract from CSS

Extract information (class names for now) from CSS code

Installation

Dependencies:

  • node >=0.8.0
  • npm >= 1.3.7
npm install extract-from-css

Usage

var extract = require('extract-from-css');
var code = '.list-item { background: red; } ' +
    '/* comment */ ' +
    '.list-item-title:hover { font-weight: bold}';
var classNames = extract.extractClasses(code);
// [ 'list-item', 'list-item-title' ]

Works with nested rules (inside media queries, supports...), complex selectors, escaped characters and unicode symbols (♠, ♥, ★...) in class names. See tests.

Tests

To run the tests with Jasmine:

npm install
npm test

To run the benchmark:

npm run benchmark
