This setup script contains a strong installer-time backdoor: it embeds a base64-encoded payload, decodes it, and executes it via exec() during the overridden setuptools install step. On Linux, the payload downloads additional code from a hardcoded remote URL, stages it in a temp directory, makes it executable, and executes it via subprocess—consistent with malicious supply-chain compromise rather than legitimate functionality.
