Hide YouTube recommendations and Shorts so YouTube stays useful instead of turning into an autoplay slot machine.
I built this to cut down on algorithmic junk, compulsive scrolling, and low-effort recommendation loops. The goal is simple: make YouTube usable on purpose.
This add-on hides recommendation-heavy surfaces, suppresses Shorts, and can redirect the home page or direct Shorts links to Subscriptions. Search, playlists, subscriptions, and direct video links still work, because the point is control, not sabotage.
It is intentionally local and minimal:
no analytics no telemetry no remote config no external services settings stored only in local browser storage
Yes, it was built with AI. That is the joke. The add-on exists to reduce the amount of machine-optimized sludge competing for attention in the first place.
