Adds a Download button to try to save YouTube videos directly, plus YouTube ad blocking. No separate app required.
youtubedownloadxtension adds a Download button to its toolbar icon that tries to save the YouTube video in your current tab directly to your computer — no separate app to install. This is experimental: it only works for some videos, since it depends on details of YouTube's own player that change over time. The extension also blocks YouTube ad requests and skips/fast-forwards in-player video ads automatically. This tool is for downloading content you have the right to save for personal, offline use; downloading from a platform can still violate that platform's own Terms of Service even when technically possible, and you are solely responsible for how you use this tool.
