YT Filter

YT Filter lets you clean up the YouTube homepage feed by hiding videos that don't match criteria you choose — directly in your browser, without touching YouTube's recommendation algorithm and without collecting any data about you.

Features

• Video age — show only videos from the last day, last 5 days, more than 10 days, or a custom date (before/after)
• Video duration — hide videos shorter or longer than N minutes
• Views — set a minimum and/or maximum view count
• Hide Shorts — removes the Shorts shelf from the homepage entirely
• Hide Mixes and playlists
• Hide live streams
• All filters are off by default and fully combinable — nothing is hidden until you turn a filter on
• A small draggable "Filters" button floats over the page with the full filter panel — place it wherever is convenient

What this is not

YT Filter is not an ad blocker. It never detects, touches, or hides ads. It also doesn't change what YouTube recommends — it only hides videos that are already in your feed and don't match your filters.

Privacy

Zero data collection, zero telemetry, zero network requests beyond what YouTube itself already makes. Your filter settings are stored only in your browser's local storage — they never leave your device.

The extension only requests two permissions: "storage" (to save your filter settings locally) and access to www.youtube.com (to read and filter the homepage). Full source code is available on GitHub.
