Intel HEX & S-record Image Audit
Recomputes every record checksum in a .hex or .s19 firmware image and names the bad records, the overlaps, the gaps and the missing EOF by line number, before the image reaches the programmer.
Install
npx @readystack/hex-image-audit file
Node 18+. The same 16 rules as the VS Code extension, from a terminal or CI.
Free
- Audit one .hex or .s19 image end to end in the editor or in the browser: all 16 checks, every record checksum recomputed, every address range mapped, every defect named with its line number.
--rules lists every rule
With a licence ($29 once)
- Audit the whole build output folder in one pass and export a dated Markdown image-audit report you keep - the artefact a release record or a CRA technical-documentation file needs.
@readystack/hex-image-audit --dir ./templates --report html --out report.html
Embedded firmware contract work is commonly billed at $90-$150 an hour; one hour of it costs more than this licence.

Tools: check_text and check_file (free) · check_dir (licence; the full sweep is free for 7 days). The agent gets every finding with the line number.
