api-anthropic
One command to set up Claude Code against the api-anthropic.help gateway and launch it. Works on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Usage
npx api-anthropic sk-ant-xxxxxxxx
That will:
- Install Claude Code if it isn't already installed.
- Point Claude Code at the gateway (
https://api-anthropic.help) using your API key.
- Set the model to Fable 5.1 (1M) — a 1,000,000-token context window.
- Launch
claude in your terminal.
After the first run you can just type claude any time.
Options
--no-launch — configure only, don't start Claude Code.
npx api-anthropic sk-ant-xxxxxxxx --no-launch
What it configures
It writes to ~/.claude/settings.json (merging with anything already there):
ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL → https://api-anthropic.help
ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN → your key
model → claude-fable-5-1[1m] and the Fable 5.1 (1M) picker option
CLAUDE_CODE_MAX_CONTEXT_TOKENS → 1000000
Gateway model discovery is intentionally left off, so the model picker stays clean (official names + Fable 5.1 (1M)) instead of listing every upstream model.
Your API key stays local on your machine; it is never sent anywhere except the gateway.
