One-command setup for Claude Code: auto-installs CLI, prompts for API key, configures Dark Mode & pre-approves folder trust, unlocks Fable 5.1 (1M Context) on https://api-anthropic.help, and directly opens Claude Code.

Works on Windows, macOS, and Linux.

⚡ Quick Start

Run this single command in your terminal:

npx api-anthropic

It greets you with the iconic Clawd pixel mascot and prompts for your API key:

• Interactive Prompt: Just run npx api-anthropic and paste your key.
• Auto-Installs Claude Code: Automatically checks for @anthropic-ai/claude-code and installs it globally if not present.
• Auto-Configures Dark Mode: Automatically sets "theme": "dark" in ~/.claude/settings.json.
• Auto-Trusts Folders: Pre-approves workspace folder trust in ~/.claude.json so you never get interrupted with "Do you trust this folder?" dialogs.
• Directly Opens Claude Code: Immediately starts interactive Claude Code in your terminal.
• Unlocks Fable 5.1 (1M Context): Sets the default model to claude-fable-5-1[1m] with a 1,000,000 token context window.
• Zero Configuration Drift: Removes conflicting API keys and keeps model picker clean.

⚙️ Options

• --no-launch — Configure settings, dark mode, and folder trust only; do not start Claude Code.
• -h, --help — Show help and options.
