crixin
Local-first dashboard, CLI, and MCP server for your AI coding sessions.
Auto-ingests Claude Code, OpenAI Codex CLI, and Cursor — searchable in seconds, on your laptop, no account.

npx crixin → ingests ~/.claude/projects/, ~/.codex/sessions/, and Cursor's state.vscdb → opens a browser dashboard on 127.0.0.1.
Zero config. No account. Your data never leaves your laptop.
Install
npm i -g crixin
crixin install
That's it. Restart your AI coding host once and ask it "use crixin to find sessions where I discussed the auth refactor". It'll call search_sessions and reply with a copy-paste resume command.
Don't want to install globally? npx -y crixin runs the same dashboard one-shot — but crixin won't be on your PATH afterwards, so AI assistants in unrelated projects won't find it.
Everyday commands
crixin
crixin search "auth refactor"
crixin wrapped --year 2026
crixin export <session-id>
crixin --mcp
crixin doctor
Per-host install (manual, if you skipped crixin install)
| Cursor | Click here → "Add to Cursor" (deep-link installer) |
| Claude Code | claude mcp add crixin -- npx -y crixin --mcp |
| Codex CLI | Append [mcp_servers.crixin]\ncommand = "npx"\nargs = ["-y","crixin","--mcp"] to ~/.codex/config.toml |
What you'll see
The default dashboard shows your sessions bucketed by recency, with sub-second deep search, per-session moments (duration, message count, you/assistant ratio, est. cost in cents), and a Wrapped strip across the top.

Why a separate tool
LangSmith, LangFuse, Helicone, Braintrust are great — for instrumenting your own apps that call LLM APIs. They expect you to bring traces.
Crixin solves a different problem: your existing AI coding history is already on disk, in formats those tools don't read. You shouldn't have to instrument anything to look at it.
Privacy posture
- Local server binds to
127.0.0.1 on a random port.
- Outbound network calls: opt-in update check + offline-verifiable license signatures. Nothing else.
- Cost estimation runs locally (real BPE via
js-tiktoken).
- No account · no telemetry · no cloud sync.
Inspiration
- search-sessions — Rust CLI for searching
~/.claude/projects/
- claude-history — TUI for the same
- Spotify Wrapped — informs the annual reveal moment
