Abstraction of Global Storage database as persistent JavaScript Objects and Document Database
Abstracts a Global Storage Database as persistent JavaScript Objects and a fine-grained Document Database
This modules is primarily designed for integration with the ewd-qoper8 module, but can be used as a standalone module
npm install ewd-globals
ewd-globals is designed to be used with Global-storage based databases, specifically:
You first must open a connection to the database using the appropriate interface module, eg:
// The cache.node module is included with Cache builds
var interface = require('cache');
var db = new interface.Cache();
var ok = db.open({
path: '/opt/cache/mgr',
username: '_SYSTEM',
password: 'SYS',
namespace: 'USER'
});
// The nodem module for GT.M can be installed using npm install nodem
var interface = require('nodem');
var db = new interface.Gtm();
var ok = db.open();
###Now do the following:
var abstraction = require('ewd-globals');
var globalStore = new abstraction(db);
The resulting globalStore object provides a JavaScript abstraction of the Global Storage database.
Examples showing use of ewd-globals are included in the /lib/tests directory of this repository
/lib/tests/CacheStandalone.js is a script that can be run as a standalone test harness. It includes examples of most of the globalStore object's properties and methods.
/lib/tests/CacheExpress1.js is an Express/ewd-qoper8 script that loads /lib/tests/CacheModule1.js into the worker processes. This demonstrates a fully manual use of ewd-globals
/lib/tests/CacheExpress2.js is an Express/ewd-qoper8 script that loads /lib/tests/CacheModule2.js into the worker processes. This demonstrates the use of the ewd-qoper8-cache module that automates the use of ewd-globals when using the InterSystems Cache database.
