hscope (npm launcher)

This is a launcher; the tool lives on PyPI as hscope.

HarnessScope — turn-level governance observability for Claude Code sessions. It parses your local transcripts into SQLite, judges them against your workspace's own rules, and serves a viewer. Local-first: transcripts never leave the machine, and there is no LLM inside the tool.

This npm package exists for the npx habit of the MCP ecosystem. The hscope binary finds a Python 3.10+ on your machine (installing the PyPI package into ~/.hscope/npm-venv on first run) and forwards every argument to python -m hscope. No JS logic beyond that.

Python 3.10+ is required. Without it the launcher prints install guidance and exits non-zero — it will not fail silently. If you have Python but prefer not to use npm:

pipx install hscope

Versions are lockstep with PyPI: launcher X.Y.Z runs hscope==X.Y.Z. Source and issues: https://github.com/moongioh/harness-scope (single home for bug reports).
