# OpenAI MCP Server

A Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for interacting with OpenAI's API. This server allows Claude and other MCP-compatible AI assistants to use OpenAI's models.

## Installation

```bash
npm install -g openai-mcp-server
```

Or use it directly with npx:

```bash
npx openai-mcp-server YOUR_OPENAI_API_KEY
```

## Usage

### Command Line

Run the server with your OpenAI API key:

```bash
openai-mcp-server YOUR_OPENAI_API_KEY
```

### With Claude Desktop

Add the following to your Claude Desktop configuration file (located at `~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json`):

Replace `YOUR_OPENAI_API_KEY` with your actual OpenAI API key.
