retext plugin to add POS (part of speech) tags to words.
This package is a unified (retext) plugin to add part of speech tags
to words.
It uses dariusk/pos-js
and adds node.data.partOfSpeech
on
Word
nodes.
It works by checking each sentence, so its smarter that just passing one word
through.
You can either use this plugin if another plugin, or your own plugin, needs POS tags!
This package is ESM only. In Node.js (version 16+), install with npm:
npm install retext-pos
In Deno with esm.sh
:
import retextPos from 'https://esm.sh/retext-pos@5'
In browsers with esm.sh
:

import retextPos from 'https://esm.sh/retext-pos@5?bundle'
</script>
/**
* @typedef {import('nlcst').Root} Root
*/
import {retext} from 'retext'
import retextPos from 'retext-pos'
import {inspect} from 'unist-util-inspect'
await retext()
.use(retextPos)
.use(myRetextPlugin)
.process('I went to the store, to buy 5.2 gallons of milk.')

This means we try to keep the current release line, retext-pos@^5
, compatible
with Node.js 16.
