So the debugger
gem doesn't work in Ruby 2. byebug
seems to be the recommended replacement. portable_debugger
will, I hope, make it easier to not have to remember this, varying its dependencies based on which version of Ruby is being used. The byebug command has 'debugger' as an alias.
I'm sure there are complexities to both gems, and that this attempt at integration only scratches the surface. But I expect it will be enough for my current needs.
