Malicious npm Packages Inject SSH Backdoors via Typosquatted Libraries
Socket’s threat research team has detected six malicious npm packages typosquatting popular libraries to insert SSH backdoors.

WINDOWS USERS
Fesk was developed on MacOS. To install the fesk cli on your system, you will need to do the following:
Git bash
where bash
in your command line and copy the result.npm config set script-shell <bash executable path>
Completing the steps above should allow you to run the installation of fesk on your windows machine.
@mands/fesk
is a private mns npm package
To install @mands/fesk
you will need to have a token set in your global .npmrc
file.
The token is sensitive information and you should store it securely in your vault area.
The token can be set on your machine in the following way:
npm config set //registry.npmjs.org/:_authToken <YOUR TOKEN>
npm config set scope mands
npm config set @mands:registry https://registry.npmjs.org/
Install fesk globally by running the following:
npm install -g @mands/fesk
Within the output of the installation you should see:
Create a new fesk based project by running fesk create <project-name>
.
This command will take you through the options for auto-generating and configuration of your fesk based application.
