Deployment

This pdf export service is intended to be used as an npm dependency in MediaAppSolution. So long as there is an entry in the MediaAppSolution package.json file, the pdf export service will be installed and started when the solution is built

Local Development

After confirming that your development environment meets the specified requirements, you can follow these steps to get the project up and running:

$ git clone https://github.com/adazzle/pdfExport.git
$ cd pdfExport
$ npm install                   # Installs project dependencies, creates adz-pdf-export service, and starts the service

While you should really only need npm install to setup and start the pdf export service, there are additional scripts at your disposal:

npm run <script>Description
startStarts the adz-pdf-export service at localhost:3000. The service needs to be installed first.
stopStops the adz-pdf-export service
removeRemoves the adz-pdf-export service from system.

Troubleshooting

If pdfs are not downloading, there are a few things that you should check first

  1. Is the service running? Open windows Task Manager, click on the services tab and find adz-pdf-export service. If the service is running, check the logs on Stackify to see further information If the service is not running, right click and press Start. If the service remains in paused mode even after attempting to start the service via task manager, then you should check windows event logs to debug. Check any errors or warnings that have a value of nssm in the source column.
