Debugging and Initial configuration setup

  1. npm symlink for debugging:

     $> cd {workspace}/corede
     $> npm link
     $> cd {workspace}/microservice
     $> npm link corede
    
  2. add below in microservice's package.json:

     "dependencies": [
       ...
       "corede": "file:../corede",
       ...
     ]
    
  3. insert below in launch.json for microservice debug/run configuration:

     “runtimeArgs”: [ 
       “--preserve-symlinks” 
       "--preserve-symlinks-main",
     ]
    
  4. ref: Understanding npm-link

When corede package is updated

  1. build corede package:

     $> cd {workspace}/corede
     $> npm run build
    
  2. install corede package to all microservices that are using the package:

     $> cd {workspace}/microservice
     $> npm i corede
    
  3. finally before dockerizing, increment corede package version in package.json:

     "version": "1.0.47" => "version": "1.0.48"
